Fishing Rod Cases

If you’re like me, you can’t stand to have a tangled, gnarled mess when you are trying to get your fishing rod out of the trunk of your car. That’s exactly what I had for years if I didn’t do a regular reorganization of my trunk. Nothing’s more frustrating than spending an hour of critical fishing time trying to untangle your rod from the myriad pieces of mysterious flotsam and jetsam wandering around your trunk.

Now, there is a solution that has solved all my problems: fishing rod cases! For some unknown reason, this elegant godsend never entered into my realm of awareness until recently. I know I’m not the only one, because I’ve seen many other guys gear in the same mess mine was. Never again, I say.

A fishing rod case is just what it sounds like: a case for storing your fishing rod. These are also known as fishing rod sleeves, tubes, and about a dozen other nomenclatures. Basically, they are a tube made of a one of a number of different materials, with a cap on one end and closed off on the other. You break down your rod into its parts and slide it into the tube, put the cap on, close the clasp, and Voilà!: instant organization and an end to tangled messes in your trunk!

Now, with the addition of fishing rod cases to my pile ‘o fishing gear, my fishing trips have become the stuff made of dreams. I park the car, open the trunk, grab the fishing rod case (with rod enclosed), the tackle box, the cooler, and the munchies, and I am on the water within 10 minutes of arrival! What could be better? What’s more, since the rod hasn’t become entangled with all the other rods and stuff in my trunk, it takes much less time to put the rod together, get it baited, and get the line in the water.

So, if you are a part of the entangled majority (like I was), run to the nearest tackle shop and get your fishing rod case(s) today! You’ll be glad you did.
