The Shimano Tiagra 50WLRSA Long Range Special Lever Reel utilizes Shimanos famed L.R.S. style drag curve. This style reel was originally designed for West Coast anglers who fish Stand-Up style from Long Range Charter Vessels. The Special-Cutting of the drag cam gives the 50 WLRSA a much wider usable range of drag pressures. Directly out of Free-Spool, the drag starts up soft and gradually increases up to 44 lbs at full drag.
