The Drifter Pack L604 marks our production rod entry into the travel arena. This short spin rod is based on one of Ian Millers long standing custom rod builds the PackFreak which has been used extensively in small freshwater streams from the Alps to Cape York in Australia and international river fishing.

The Pack has more power than most short travel spin rods in this length. This is to enable a larger range of lures to be cast a good distance with such a short rod, and makes it easier to manipulate the lure during the retrieve. It is also a capable fish fighting tool, ideal for harder fishing fish such as bass, sooties, and a very versatile traveller.

Blank construction is the new Armour 40-5. This all new blank technology is the ultimate in blank reinforcement the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of lightweight sensitivity!

The handle of the Pack L604 is quite short which positions the reel close the butt end of the rod. This creates more effective tip length, allowing the rod to perform like a longer rod. It also means that the rod handle is more easily manoeuvred.

With that great feel that cork brings, the reel seat comes easily to the hand, reel seat body fitting ergonomically in the palm while the carbon locking hood helps transfer energy through the casting stroke.

Minima guides have been selected for this rod as they are the lightest guide available so a double foot frame can be used a stripper guide and dont have a ceramic ring that can be damaged when travelling or hiking. Minima guides also allow for a very small size to be used on the tip section yet the ID of the ring is not too restrictive to line flow. And the guide train is so light it doesnt have a negative impact on the rod balance and sensitivity.

The custom Millerods anti-tangle hook keeper finishes the guide train and allows for lures to be easily stowed when walking between casting positions.

Whilst primarily a freshwater-oriented design this rod suits all applications requiring a packable short spin rod for small to small/medium sized lures.

Suitable for use with nylon lines, fluorocarbon lines and braid/leader combinations via the FG knot.
